Suggested Private Excursions for Cape Town

Upon arrival at the West Coast Ostrich Show Ranch you will be taken on a conducted tour, during which the habits, breeding and characteristics of this unique bird will be explained to you. The tour comprises of a forty- five minute trail, includes a display room, the leather factory, west-coast white ostriches, dwarf ostriches, black neck ostriches, emus, rheas, peacocks, ostrich chicks, the incubator, cactus garden and a spectacular view of Table Mountain and the surrounding country side. You will also have the opportunity to have your photo taken while sitting on an ostrich, with Table Mountain as the backdrop.

After this visit, depart for the Durbanville Hills Winery. The original name of these hills are the Tigerberg hills which comes from "tijger" (Dutch for leopard) The early settlers at the Cape, thought the striated effect of the hills covered in indigenous shrubs resembled the skin of a leopard. Durbanville Hills Winery draws its grapes from a group of neighboring farms, selected for their outstanding quality crops.

Enjoy a guided cellar tour and wine tasting, followed by a glass of wine and selection of cheeses, overlooking the beautiful hills.

This tour might not be suitable for wheelchair passengers depending on which wine estate we would book for the wine tasting and the cellar tour.
Guests are permitted to sit on an ostrich and to take photographs with Table Mountain as the backdrop. There is, however, a weight restriction of 100 kg maximum for this activity. The photo is not a professional service but will need to be taken with the guests own camera.
