Your car and driver/guide will pick you up at the ship for a day of exploring Hamburg, Germany - the famous 800-year old Hanseatic port city and the second largest port in Europe after Rotterdam.Pass the container and cargo terminals of the "Speicherstadt," the late 19th c warehouses located on the canals between the Deichtorhallen and the former market halls. Built at the turn of the century in the red brick style typical of northern Germany, with gabled roofs and small towers, ‘Speicherstadt’, is the largest warehouse complex still in operation in the world.Drive by one of Hamburg’s most amazing office buildings, the famous 20`s ‘Chilehaus’, whose elegant Expressionistic brick façade refers to the form of a ship. Dramatically illuminated at night, the ‘Chilehaus’ adds an elegant touch to the skyline of the city.Afterwards, drive along Inner Alster Lake and the main shopping and financial area before reaching Outer Alster Lake, one of Hamburg's finest residential areas which is surrounded by a lovely promenade and elegant gardens.Continue touring the city center with its mixture of modern and historic architecture, the ruins of St. Nicolai, St. Peter's Church and the incredible old City Hall, built in Neo-Renaissance style, as well as the Reeperbahn of St. Pauli, one of the world's largest red-light districts.Before enjoying a ‘No Host’ lunch by the water, attend a short organ recital at the baroque St. Michael´s Church, the emblem and landmark of Hamburg.
