As you disembark at the
Venice port, meet your English-speaking guide for a full-day excursion (up to
8 hours) of Venice.
Start the day with 2-hour
private canal cruise along the famous Grand Canal, where you can admire the
many important Palazzi and bridges, such as the Rialto. Your guide will place
the various sights in historical context. You will be able to stop along route
to explore the banks of the canal.
You will pause for a leisurely
lunch (to be paid locally). Enjoy a visit to the Frari church as well as a visit
insider one of the fabulous palaces. Ca' Rezzonico is a splendid palace by Baldassarre
Longhena, a sumptuous Venetian residence hosting a precious collection of 18th
century Venetian furnishings and paintings. Of great interest are the palatial
rooms and the frescoes by G.B. Tiepolo, J. Guarana, and F. Guardi. On the third
floor the Egidio Martini Gallery and its 300 masterpieces. After your tour you
will be returned to your ship.
