Meet your expert local driver and guide for the drive to Old Town Dubrovnik.
Start your walking tour of the old city of Dubrovnik, proclaimed a city museum by UNESCO. The old city is surrounded by a circuit of city walls; over a mile in length and with a tower in each corner, they are a masterpiece of medieval and renaissance architecture. You will also stroll along the centuries-old main city promenade called Stradun; at one end of this street you will visit 14th Century Franciscan Monastery whose cloister ranks among the most inspiring sites of the city. At the other end, see the church of St. Blaise and the Sponza Palace, and visit Dominican Monastery and the Rector's Palace.
After exploring Dubrovnik’s historical heritage, your guide will take you to the oldest district of the city called Santa Maria. Here you will experience the real Dubrovnik; smell the aroma of the local cuisine coming from open windows, and encounter children playing soccer on the marvelous stone pavements. You will also see the hidden quarter called Buza, frequented almost exclusively by the locals. Here the door of St. Stjepan (a little door in the walls) opens to reveal a view over white rocks and blue sea to Lokrum Island. On the way back to Stradun, visit the famous street called Ulica od Puca that is renowned for its traditional jewellery stores, an old barber shop and various small churches.
Return to the ship.

Classed as a world heritage treasure by UNESCO, Dubrovnik is a place of ancient streets lined with stone palaces, Venetian-style buildings and bell towers. The city is enclosed by stone walls, and the highlight is a leisurely walk atop these massive walls for a great view of the city and the sea. Entering Dubrovnik, you are greeted by an impressive pedestrian promenade, the Placa, which extends before you all the way to the clock tower at the other end of town. The Orlando Tower here is a favorite meeting place. Just inside the city walls near the Pile Gate is the Franciscan Monastery housing the third-oldest functioning pharmacy in Europe, operating since 1391. For a fantastic panorama of the city, take a cable car ride to the summit of the 1,340-foot Mount Srdj.
