Cruise Line Profile

The riverboat Jahan is appointed in grand style, with large, gracious staterooms and luxurious touches. Built in 2011 from the ground up, it is without question the finest ship on the river. Jahan accommodates 48 guests in 24 cabins, including two suites. Every cabin on the ship has a balcony, and the suites each have a private Jacuzzi. At 230 feet long with four decks, she is an expansive ship with public areas where the expedition community can gather to watch life along the riverbank, with everyone sharing in the experience.
Dining
Every meal is a delight and often a discovery on the region you’re exploring. The menu is international, with a focus on the outstanding Vietnamese and Cambodian cuisines. All food served aboard is fresh, local, and delicious, and there is a broad range of daily choices.

The dining room, at the stern of the terrace deck, accommodates the entire expedition community in a single seating. Some tables accommodate an odd number of people to encourage easy mingling. Independent travelers will find a welcome everywhere. Dress is always casual and the general ambience is relaxed and informal.

Breakfast is served buffet-style, featuring freshly squeezed juices and a variety of fresh fruit, pastries, and traditional breakfast offerings. Lunch is most often buffet-style. Dinners are plated and served in the dining room, though they may occasionally be held outside - conditions permitting. Tea is served in the observatory each day, and snacks are available at the funnel bar.

During lunch and dinner your expedition leader, cultural experts, and any guest speakers aboard, will join you for meals, and during breakfast they often sit together to plan the logistics of the exciting day ahead.

Immediately adjacent are the reception area and the boutique.
  • Observatory: Located on the forward part of the terrace deck, this covered, comfortable space is a great place to watch the scenery along the Mekong and its tributaries.
  • Pool area: On the terrace deck, you’ll find a small spa pool surrounded by deck chairs—a perfect place to enjoy the time between exploring historical sites or villages. The area is covered.
  • Funnel bar: The covered funnel bar, on the terrace deck, is surrounded by tables and chairs, and is a great place for a sundowner or a nightcap, or for relaxing during the day and enjoying the scenery.
