We loved the ship, the crew was just perfect, the itinerary was a bit too heavy on Turkey, Cyprus was a bummer of a stop, Alexandria is a dump, and since we opted out of six hours on a bus for the Pyramids, we saw only poverty, and a beautiful new modern library. Chios was pleasant, but the top stop was Sorrento, where we headed right out to Positano, and loved it. Italy's coastal ports should be more on the agenda. One drag, a crew member drank our $60 buy-it-from-the-ship Myers Rum right down to the bottom over three days. We had one drink from the bottle, and didn't say a word because there was more than one person with access to our deck eight Sunset Veranda. It's located between the two biggest suites on the ship in the aft of the eight deck. That was a bummer, but we let it slide rather than get the wrong person up in front of the "powers that be." Otherwise the ship and cruise personnel were perfect. Next time we'll do more research on the ports visited. But, since we had only one time slot available, and we wanted to try Azamara, we had little choice. |
