Just arrived back on Monday 13/2/2012, my Husband and I, from a trip to Spain and the Canary Islands, our first cruise. . . definitely not the last. First class cabin, food, and service. Well, I was quiet for a while. That's no mean feat as I usually do not shut up. We were overwhelmed by the luxury of it all. We felt like film stars. Food in the restaurant, King Lear, was amazing. Johnny Rockets is a brill music place and they dance for you as well. Also try a milkshake. Windjammer's cracking breakfast cafe; promenade cakes you will have to see for yourself. The crew worked non stop. The place was spotless. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Our attendant, Juliana, looked after us brilliantly, bless her. Kids will think they are in paradise with all the activities. Madeira was beautiful as well as the sunniest quaint taverns. La Coruna was the most chic: the locals all dress up in the most fashionable clothes just to do their shopping. Amazing. We also enjoyed Lisbon, not so keen on Tenerife but it was quite wet and windy that day. We found all the ports you could walk into the towns if you were fairly fit. The shows on board ship were great. The shops, we thought, especially the clothes, were expensive. The Casino was fun: my Hubby had a nice win (soon took that off him!!) We will book another soon for next year around the Med. Same ship, hopefully same crew and Captain. Boy, can he park 160,000 tons of steel in a narrow space! Keep you posted next year. Alan & Joy, over 50 and proud of it. |
