Introduction

Germany is the land of contrast.  Where else in the world can you wake up amidst breathtaking alpine forests, enjoy a breakfast of the biggest selection of meat, cheese and bread you’ve ever seen, stroll along 1,000 km of the most stunning shoreline, lunch on wurst and sauerkraut, then wander through medieval towns and modern cities, all in the same day?

Experience new things, have fun and relax.  Vibrant cities with amazing architecture, fabulous shopping and pulsating nightlife.  Enchanting medieval villages and traditional wine villages with friendly festivals and regional specialties.  Picturesque countryside which is perfect for walking or simply relaxing in.  Castles, palaces and abbeys that are the epitome of German romanticism.  Fun and sport, wellness and relaxation.  A land of a thousand possibilities.

The Heart of Europe
Germany is at the heart of Europe – with only 1 hour by plane from London, 40 minutes from Paris, and 2 hours from Rome, Germany makes a great starting-point.

City Life
For any visitor with a curious mind, Germany’s cities never fail to delight.  The great and exhilarating city of Berlin, Germany’s fascinating capital, with its exceptional architecture, 150 theaters, 170 museums, two-mile long shopping district and numerous festivals.  Hamburg, with a maze of canals and waterways and the famous Reeperbahn.  Munich, the state capital of Bavaria, popular all year round with its snow-capped Alps and sunny beer gardens.  Frankfurt, a modern and dynamic city of industry and finance, with one of the world’s largest exhibition centers and Germany’s busiest airport.

Unwind, Immerse, Refresh
Imagine a place where you can indulge your passion for luxury and pampering at some of Europe’s most exclusive spas and health resorts.  Where the sheer sight of the landscape is enough to take your breath away, as you stand at the top of the highest hill or the foot of the clearest, freshest waterfall.  This is Germany.

Inspiration
Germany has produced some of the world’s most famous classical musicians, sports personalities and writers.  Classical masters like Bach and Beethoven have remained at number one for the past 300 years.  They’ve all been inspired by their homeland; a multicultural society that’s simply bursting with vibrancy and energy.

Festivities
With a love of partying, Germans celebrate many different occasions throughout the year.  And with such a rich musical heritage you’ll find festivals of all shapes and sizes at towns and cities all year round.  The "Rhine in Flames" in the Rhineland sees barges packed with fireworks and the hillside set ablaze throughout the summer months.  And Carnival, Germany’s Mardi Gras, takes place towards the end of winter and promises the most colorful floats and street entertainment in towns and cities throughout the country.

The Perfect Setting
Germany’s landscape is as diverse as any country in the world.  The awe-inspiring Alpine Foreland is home to the Zugspitze mountain, Germany’s tallest at 2.962 meters.  The island of Sylt bears a spotless 38 kilometer stretch of golden sandy beach, and the Black Forest is abundant with myths and legends of the fairies and goblins that reside within it.  Cruise the River Rhine as it weaves past delightful castles and vineyards.  Take a chairlift to the top of a Moselle winery and take in the spectacular view while enjoying a chilled glass of Riesling.

Prost!
German cuisine uses the freshest, often organic ingredients.  From the finest 5-star restaurants serving world-class dishes, to tiny rustic kitchens satisfying hungry visitors with bratwurst and sauerkraut, Germany’s choice of food is as varied as its regions.

Something for Everyone
With over 2.5 million events taking place each year, 5,000 museums and over 9,000 exhibitions throughout the country, Germany is a cultural epicenter.  Music events revolve around the modern and classical.  Street parades attract record numbers of visitors every year, whilst the Oktoberfest in Munich is a mecca for happy revelers.  Sports enthusiasts will enjoy a diverse number of sporting events, such as Alpine and Nordic skiing, the Field Hockey World Championships and the FEI World Equestrian Games.
