Antsirabe, Madagascar, has lapidaries (stone-cutting facilities), old thermal spas and some volcanic crater lakes in the surrounding area. Tritriva, about 12 mi/20 km from town, is a favorite. Additional interesting things to see in Antsirabe are the Antsirabe Catholic Cathedral, the railway station and the Andraikiba Lake.
Located 80 mi/130 km southwest of Antananarivo, Antsirabe can be seen as a very long day trip, but spending at least one night in the town is suggested. The city can be explored by walking, pousse-pousse or bicycle. The best hotel option is the Arotel, which has nice gardens and a swimming pool.
