Akrowa Waterfalls
Overview
Introduction
These falls, near the town of
Badou, inspire awe: The water falls 300 ft/90 m into a pool surrounded by jungle. To see it requires more than an hour's hike through the dense vegetation, starting from the main church in Badou. If you make the jaunt, overnight in Atakpame (90 mi/145 km north of Lome). It's one of the larger villages in the area, and after hiking to the falls, any little convenience it can supply will be appreciated. Most visitors see the falls on an overnight excursion from Lome.
Akrowa Waterfalls are about 40 mi/65 km west of Atakpame.
