Overview

Introduction

On the western side of Kiribati, this atoll, whose name means "Island of Moonlight," has good diving and snorkeling facilities and accommodations. Plan to stay three nights, but only if you're a beach-lover or a diver. Robert Louis Stevenson lived on the island for a few months in 1889. 90 mi/145 km southeast of Tarawa.
