Growing up, I always wanted to be a flight attendant, because I loved the thought of traveling around the globe to exotic locations. Now, after 40 years as a travel consultant, I feel fortunate to be part of a profession that has taken me to some of the world’s most fascinating places. I've had the opportunity to snorkel with the stingrays in Grand Cayman, and I’ve savored mouthwatering jerk chicken sitting on a beautiful beach at Sandal's Dunn's River Jamaica Resort. My week long visit to Venice was filled with exploring tiny streets, mingling with the locals and marveling at century-old buildings. History abounds in Belgium from the Fields of Flanders to Centuries Old Trappist Monasteries. In Alaska, I fished, hiked, rafted and kayaked, surrounded by the spellbinding serenity of the great outdoors. I’ve visited Hawaii 17 times and just this year obtained my Maui Masters Certification. I’ve admired firsthand the magnificent countryside and lovely people of Ireland both Republic and Northern . When asked my favorite place I've visited it so difficult the World has so many incredible places, varied in beauty, culture and experience. I loved the simplicity of time in Tahiti, the Incredible Journey to Macchu Picchu, the Contrast in landscape of North Isle in New Zealand all so vastly different, yet the people so closely the same all welcoming and excited to showcase their home to the visitors.
Thanks to my outgoing personality, it’s like second nature for me to work with people on their vacations. I like the constant changes, daily challenges and new ideas that the travel industry brings me. As I put together all the pieces of a client’s itinerary, I try my best to make it all perfect, and when people come back happy, I feel that my extra effort was worth it.
I’m also a good listener, which helps me determine the best fit for my client’s needs. I talk enthusiastically about places I’ve seen and things I’ve done, in order to give clients an idea of what to expect. I help them prepare for every aspect of their trip in advance, so that there are no unforeseen surprises that get in the way of their enjoyment.
I think cruises are fun to plan, because they provide participants with new experiences each day. It’s hard to resist the wonderful sense of camaraderie that develops among the passengers. All inclusive resorts are another great vacation option, because everything you need is right at your fingertips. I also enjoy creating excursions for families, coming up with different activities for the various individuals as well as things the entire clan can do together.
Travel has truly captured my heart, and I hope I can help you feel the same way.
