Introduction

Kinderdijk is a Dutch village known for its 19 windmills that date from the 18th century. Guided tours are available from the visitors center, though admission into a windmill costs extra. The town was named a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997 and offers a window into the Netherlands' unique history.
