Introduction

The tiny village of Olden, which is located at the mouth of the Oldeelva River, is a popular tourist area because of its proximity to Europe's glaciers, particularly Birksdal Glacier, which is 15 mi/24 km from the town. The surrounding area is dramatically beautiful, with lofty mountains and rushing waterfalls, and it contains multiple hiking trails.
