Bozcaada

Bozcaada

Overview

Introduction

Known to the ancients as Tenedos, the prettier of Turkey's two inhabited Aegean islands, Bozcaada has everything going for it: sandy beaches, a dramatic castle, lovely old stone houses, well-regarded vineyards (there's a wine-tasting festival each June) and fish restaurants ringing a harbor.

Not surprisingly, it is fast being discovered, despite the mild inconvenience of having to get there by ferry (from Yukyeri Iskelesi, south of Canakkale) and its location 244 mi/390 km from Istanbul.
