Koper

Overview

Introduction

Located near the border of Italy, Koper is the center of the ethnic Italian community in Slovenia and you'll hear both Italian and Slovenian when wandering the streets. Koper's main draw is the Venetian-style Old Town, including the main street, Cevljarska, which is only 10 ft/3 m wide in some places. The main square, Titov Trg, is dominated by the bell tower of St Mary's of the Assumption Cathedral. The Praetorian Palace is another attraction located on the town square.
