The annual Red Bull Air Race World Championship held in Rovinj at the end of May transforms the sleepy village into a loud media spectacle. If you're looking for a quiet holiday, avoid visiting at this time of year.
Rovinj makes an excellent base for visiting other towns on the Istria Peninsula, including Porec and Pula.
