Saguenay Fjord

Saguenay Fjord

Overview

Introduction

Most cruises embarking for the Saint Lawrence and Saguenay Fjord region begin in Montreal or Quebec. Both cities are large and maintain a variety of transportation options for arriving and departing the city, including air, train and vehicle.

The majority of the settlements in the Saguenary Fjord are small towns, such as Tadoussac at the mouth of the fjord. The towns rely heavily on tourism and thus maintain excellent cruise ports, and each offers a variety of activities such as whale-watching or kayak tours of the fjord.

The city of Saguenay, at the end of the fjord, is sizeable and contains the borough (formerly independent town) of Chicoutimi. The Saguenay cruise pavilion features a tourist office that can facilitate visitors' outings.
