Puerto Rico's Rio Camuy Caves, an otherworldly terrain of caves, sinkholes and limestone hills, offers a chance to see one of the world's largest underground rivers. It's located about 40 mi/64 km southwest of San Juan.
Note: Puerto Rico sustained severe damage during Hurricane Maria in September 2017. Recovery efforts may take years. Travelers should investigate current conditions prior to planning a visit. Tours of the caves are not currently running as they are pending a safety inspection. There is no estimated reopening date at this time.
