Introduction

With 110 lakes and ponds, Rangeley, Maine, offers all sorts of water activities 115 mi/265 km northwest of Portland.

The 690-acre/280-hectare Rangeley Lake State Park is great for swimming, camping, boating and fishing. Scenic flights over the forests and lakes operate daily. http://www.maine.gov/doc/parks/programs/index.html.

The Rangeley Lakes Logging Museum Apple Festival takes place in early October. An apple press there allows guests to make their own apple cider. http://www.rangeleymaine.com.
