Johor Bahru

Located in Johor, the closest Malaysian state to Singapore, Johor Bahru is situated at the northern end of the two causeways linking the countries. You can get there by bus, outstation taxi or train.

Attractions include the Straits of Johor, a stretch of beach; Muzium Diraja Abu Bakar, a museum on the coast; and Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque, which is regarded as one of the most beautiful in Malaysia. Dating from 1892, it combines Western neoclassical and Islamic architecture to a stunning effect. Or you can choose to simply shop and enjoy a seafood dinner.
