There is a lot to do and see around the Gallatin Gateway Inn, including hiking, horseback riding, fly-fishing, white-water rafting, skiing, mountain biking, golf, shopping, snowshoeing, wildlife tours and snowmobiling. The Museum of the Rockies is home base of Jack Horner, of Jurassic Park fame, as well as other dinosaur specialists.
Bozeman Hot Springs is 5 mi/8 km north of the Inn, boasting 10 mineral pools of varying temperatures which are drained every day, as well as an outdoor pool and both wet and dry saunas.
A short 20-minute drive northwest of the Inn is the Missouri Headwaters State Park. It was a geographical focal point to early Native Americans, trappers, traders and settlers. The State Park preserves much of the region's abundant wildlife, lush vegetation and scenic beauty.
An easy 40-mi/64-km drive west of the Inn, the Lewis and Clark Caverns is another fun day outing for people of all ages, featuring one of the most beautiful limestone caverns in the Northwest. The two-hour tour features stalactites, stalagmites, clusters and flowstone. The caverns are open May-September and there is a small fee.
