Lake Geneva, in the southeast part of Wisconsin, is a 5,000-acre/2,025-hectare lake—a perfect place for watersports. Elegant mansions can be viewed during a cruise on one of the boats of the Geneva Lake Cruise Line, which offers scheduled excursions and specialty cruises (mid-June to mid-September). Golfers will be happy with the wide selection of area courses. Racing fans can choose between autos at the Lake Geneva Raceway or dogs at the Geneva Lakes Greyhound Track in nearby Delavan.
The best place to get a look at the state's history is Old World Wisconsin in Eagle. This park is a historically accurate reconstruction of Wisconsin's pioneer history and is regarded as one of the best outdoor living-history museums in the country (open May-October). Lake Geneva is 40 mi/65 km southwest of Milwaukee.
