Travnik is a charming small town in central Bosnia with interesting Roman and Turkish architecture. In town, you can see ancient Roman remains as well as remnants of a castle and fortress from the Middle Ages. There is also a beautiful natural-water spring, Plava Voda. The town is best known, however, as the birthplace of Ivo Andric, who received the Nobel Prize in 1961 for Literature. Today, his home is a natural history and cultural museum. 45 mi/70 km northwest of Sarajevo.
