The gastronomic capital of St. Martin, Grand Case (pronounced grahnd kahz—rhymes with blahs) is the French side's second-largest town. Its main street is lined with more than 30 charming, small restaurants, many with gingerbread-trimmed patios or verandas overlooking the sea.
Food is what draws most visitors to Grand Case, but don't pass up the art, especially the Lynn family studio and Galerie Minguet. Atelier 105 (phone 292-343) and Graffiti's, just up the street, are also good sources for local art. Grand Case also hosts theme nights for art lovers. Check the local newspapers for details, or contact the St. Martin Art Lover's Association. http://www.artlovers-sxm.com.
