Set in a fenced yard with lush plantings and a smooth lawn, the villa feels like it’s tucked into a secret garden. The ground floor opens to a terrace with a shaded lounge areas, a daybed and chaise longues in the sun and a pool with an inset hot tub. In the evenings, go upstairs to the covered lanai off the villa’s second story, which has a built-in gas barbecue and dining area. Kids will love the Kamilo community’s huge shared pool, and a pavilion with barbecues offers even more space for cookouts. Kamilo guests can also enjoy the Mauna Lani beach club and have optional access to the golf clubs, tennis courts at Mauna Lani Resort.
Vaulted ceilings, plantation shutters and high-end furnishings give the interiors of Kamilo at Mauna Lani 215 a luxe tropical ambience. The bright, breezy great room, which opens to the second-story lanai through fold-back glass doors, is enveloped by rich hardwood floors and a grasscloth-covered vaulted ceiling. Two stately sofas are enlivened by rattan end tables and a floral-print rug, and the adjacent dining area continues the look with rattan chairs and matching upholstery. The fully equipped kitchen has a convenient breakfast bar, full-grained wood cabinets and dramatic emerald granite countertops. There are two bedrooms on the villa’s lower level and one on the upper level; all have flat-screen televisions and ceiling fans. On the ground floor, the master suite has a king bed, en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet and opens to the pool deck. Both the second ground-floor bedroom and the upstairs bedroom have a queen bed and access to hallway bathroom.
From the villa, it’s a 15-minute walk to dining and shopping, including a grocery store, at Mauna Lani. Don’t miss the white sand and warm water at Mauna Lani Beach Club, a 5-minute drive away, and Hapuna Beach, 12 minutes away by car. Work up a sweat at the Mauna Lani sports and fitness facilities or take a swing at the Francis H. I’i Brown Golf Course, both a 5-minute drive away. If you’d like to see more of the island, try Waimea, 18 miles away, or Waikoloa, 29 miles away. Book your flights in and out of Kona International Airport, a 22-mile drive from Kamilo.
