The club scene’s hot in Greater Fort Lauderdale. Whether you’re into electronic dance music (EDM), hip hop, or the hottest hits, there’s a deejay spinning your tunes or a live show calling your name.

Maybe you’re looking for an upscale stiletto scene or you want to chill with a barefoot-in-the-sand vibe. Either way, you’ll find Greater Fort Lauderdale’s bars serve cocktails, wines, great food, and good times.

Breweries & Beer Places
There’s a great craft brewery community in Greater Fort Lauderdale, and there are beer places serving brews from around the world. Enjoy extraordinary flavors served with above-and-beyond bar food.

In Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and Hollywood Beach, you can explore a reef without a boat. Greater Fort Lauderdale is the only place in the continental United States where you can snorkel and dive on a living coral reef right off the beach. Swim out just 100 yards from shore and encounter a colorful variety of fish and sea creatures.

Scuba Diving
Warm ocean waters make this the ultimate year-round diving destination. If you’re not already dive certified, get your certification and take your pick of 75 sunken wrecks to explore, such as Shipwreck Park in Pompano Beach or the165’ wreck of The Ancient Mariner, a great first wreck dive for open-water certified divers. For advanced divers, the Rodeo 25 is a 215’ Dutch freighter in Pompano Beach.

Boat Rentals
Prep your “yacht rock” playlist because you’re going on a boat. Greater Fort Lauderdale has a number of boat-rental companies to choose from, offering a range of equipment from deck boats to speedboats to luxury yachts. Spend a day exploring the waterways or take a joy ride to the Bahamas. You can even rent a captain!

Kayaks & Paddleboards
This is about as tranquil as it gets. Kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding are great activities for the whole family, as well as great ways to get up close and personal with the area—because not all our nature trails are on land. Local stand-up paddleboard operators offer lessons, yoga, full moon paddles, and more.

Fishing Charters
Sailfish, swordfish, mahi mahi, snook, grouper, and snapper are among the types of fish you can hook in these waters. Greater Fort Lauderdale is also one of the few areas in the world where both freshwater and saltwater fishing are just 20 minutes apart. Take your pick of fishing fleets up and down the coast or into the Everglades, or book a deep-water adventure.

Jet Skis
Feel the wind in your hair and the sea spray on your cheeks. Jet Skis are available by the half hour or hour from a number of beachside operators. Take yourself on a 110-horsepower ride with the ocean as your open road.

Discover the eight distinct beaches and beach towns along Greater Fort Lauderdale’s 23 miles of sun-soaked coastline. Each have its own unique vibe, dining scene, and ways to play. Because we keep our beaches soft, clean, and pristine, they’ve been certified Blue Wave beaches since the '90s.

Anglin’s Square was designed with relaxing in mind: there are public plazas where you sit in Adirondack chairs and chat with your friends, and you can take pleasure in kids playing outdoor games and enjoy live music at various restaurants all year long. We have made our beach town a wonderful experience for all ages, and know you will have a great time here. Recognized as “South Florida’s Beach Diving Capital,” the town's warm ocean waters are a mecca for SCUBA divers and snorkelers. Coral reefs teem with an abundance of sea life less than 100 yards offshore. It’s so easy to snorkel or dive right from our sandy beach and go nose to nose with fish, turtles and lobsters. Of course, our historic fishing pier over the ocean is our most iconic place to visit.

Fort Lauderdale Beach
On one side of scenic road A1A, upscale hotels, nightlife, and restaurants invite you to stay and play. On the ocean side, feel the allure of the soft sands and blue waters of Fort Lauderdale Beach. Take the trolley to tree-lined Las Olas Boulevard, where even a stroll is casually chic, then keep strolling to the Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment District and cutting-edge art of FATVillage.

Hollywood Beach

Thanks to the Gulf Stream, you’ll find some of the warmest and clearest waters around--just perfect for a diving adventure in the “Wreck Capital of South Florida.”

Hallandale Beach
Greater Fort Lauderdale’s southernmost beach has fun that stretches beyond the sands. You could drop anchor and do a little saltwater fishing in the deep blue ocean, swing for the fairway at area golf courses, or play to win at the Gulfstream Park Casino, thoroughbred horse racing, and Florida Derby. Hallandale Beach is a thrill-seekers getaway.

Deerfield Beach
A favorite surf spot, the Deerfield Beach waves are a thrill no matter your skill level—from gremmies to gurus. Greater Fort Lauderdale’s northernmost beach is a family playground with free surf lessons, beach volleyball, pier fishing, and open-air dining everywhere you look.

Hillsboro Beach
Relax on the beach with a view of the Hillsboro Lighthouse or plan ahead for one of the scheduled lighthouse tours via shuttle boat from Alsdorf Park. You’ll need proper shoes for the climb (unlike the nearby statue dedicated to the legendary Barefoot Mailmen). From March to October, join a nighttime sea turtle nest tour. The mama turtles love it here—this is the area’s busiest nesting beach—and GFL loves its sea turtle babies.
