San Marino is the third smallest state in Europe also known as “Little Europe” and sits on the slopes of Mount Titano in central Italy closest to the Adriatic Sea. San Marino was discovered in the fourth century when Saint Marinus came upon this hill-top settlement after seeking refuge from religious persecution. Overlooking the village are three majestic towers that sits on three peaks: Guaita (built 1000 years ago), Cesta and Montale (both built in the thirteenth century). Visitors can stroll through medieval century fortresses at Palazzo Pubblico, inhale the panoramic fairtytale view in Montale, or hike one of the three peaks that overlooks the city of San Marino.
