This inland village Al Shahhainiya, located 20 mi/34 km northwest of Doha, hosts camel races October-May. The races are held at Shahaniya Camel Race Track (https://www.hejen.qa). Check English-language newspapers (such as the Gulf Times) to see when races are held.
There is also a farm that raises oryx (a type of antelope) near Al Shahhainiya.
